Our Beliefs

“But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God”. Matthew 4: 4

Our Beliefs

We believe in one God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Creator of all things. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died and was buried; He was resurrected, ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and is true God and true man. We believe the Bible in its entirety to be the inspired Word of God and the infallible rule of faith and conduct.

The Cobbles is rooted in biblical principles, emphasizing spiritual growth, unity, and Christ-centered living. Here are its core beliefs:

  • Authority of Scripture: The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16).
  • The Trinity: God exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14). And Jesus answered him, the first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord (Mark 12:29).
  • Baptism: Baptism is by immersion in water, with a repented heart in the Name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38).
  • Holy Spirit: For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence (Acts 1:5).
  • Salvation by Grace: Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection (Ephesians 2:8-9).
  • The Holy Spirit’s Role: The Spirit empowers believers for holy living and service (John 14:26).
  • The Church: The Church is the Body of Christ, called to worship and serve (1 Corinthians 12:27).
  • The Great Commission: Believers are called to share the Gospel and make disciples (Matthew 28:19).
  • Sanctity of Life: All life is sacred, created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27).
  • Christ’s Return: Jesus will return to establish His eternal Kingdom (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
  • Prayer and Worship: Prayer and worship are central to spiritual life (Colossians 4:2).
  • Faith Through Love: Faith is demonstrated through love and service (1 John 3:18).
These doctrines guide us in living a Christ-centered, scripture-based life.
